Matalasiaufaiga "Asi" Peko
Peko's full name is Matalasiaufaiga Peko. She is the daughter of Heather Ciobanu and Tony Peko, and she has two brothers, Togasii (Sii) Peko and Mihai Ciobanu. Older brother Sii is a high school sophomore and plays football and runs track. Younger brother Mihai is 4 years old and loves to box and swim.

- How did you get involved in gymnastics: I drove my parents crazy with all of my energy.
- Favorite thing about gymnastics: I love feeling passionate about my sport and performing in front of crowds. I love being strong and powerful, yet graceful at the same time.
- What are your goals for gymnastics?: To gain as much international experience as I can during the next three-and-a-half years so that I can compete and medal at the 2012 Olympics.
