USA Gymnastics is pleased to announce the national launch of the Xcel Sapphire division beginning August 1, 2023. Sapphire is a new division of Xcel for athletes who want to advance beyond Diamond.
"The National Xcel Committee is very happy to announce the addition of the Sapphire division. This division will provide additional growth opportunities our athletes, clubs, and coaches," said National Xcel Committee Chairman Claudia Kretschmer.
Following a one-year pilot program, the National Xcel Committee and Technical Committee voted to add the Sapphire division to all eight regions. Sapphire will be incorporated into the Code of Points and Rules and Policies documents prior to the competitive season. Pilot Program rules will be used for the national program and will remain available to the membership on the Xcel page until the division is formally incorporated into these documents in the fall.
