Alexandria Kautzman (Simi Valley, Calif./California Rhythms) won clubs bronze at the 2023 Thiais Grand Prix in France, while Yana Golovan (Las Vegas, Nev./Nevada Rhythmic Academy), Sophia Volkov (Glenview, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center), Rin Keys (Porter Ranch, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) and Natalia de la Rosa (Woodland Hills, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) each finished in the top 10 in all-around competition at the Sofia Cup International Tournament in Bulgaria.

Thiais Grand Prix Kautzman secured bronze (30.100) in the clubs final behind silver medalist Fanni Pigniczki of Hungary (30.450), and gold medalist Zohra Aghamirova of Azerbaijan (30.950). Kautzman also was fourth (29.700) in ball and seventh (27.250) in ribbon.

Kautzman posted a combined 117.250 all-around for a top-five finish behind Israel's Daniela Munits, who was fourth with a 118.000. France's Helene Karbanov claimed gold (121.000), while Pigniczki and Aghamirova earned silver (119.150) and bronze (119.050), respectively.

Sofia Cup International Tournament In senior individual all-around competition in Sofia, Golovan landed sixth with a 112.450, and Volkov was ninth with a 107.900. Ukraine's Khrystyna Pohranychna was third (122.150) behind Bulgarian athletes Tatyana Volozhanina in second (123.200), and Eva Brezalieva in first (129.550). With only two gymnasts per country allowed to rank in the all-around, Americans Sarah Mariotti (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy), Deanna Georgieva (Centennial, Colo./Zara Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy) and Kalina Trayanov (Deerfield, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center) posted scores of 107.850, 106.850 and 101.300, respectively.

Golovan qualified for three apparatus finals and was fourth in ribbon (28.500), sixth in clubs (28.900), and seventh in hoop (28.000). Mariotti was sixth in the ball final with a 28.800.

Among the juniors, Keys was eighth (110.450) and de la Rosa 10th (109.750) in all-around competition. Following the two-per-country rule, Megan Chu's (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) 108.950, Erika Rusak's (Auburn, Wash./Evergreen Rhythmics) 104.850 and Ksenia Potoski's (Brooklyn, N.Y./Isadora by Match Point) 104.050 also competed. Bulgaria's Nikol Todorova and Elvira Krasnobaeva claimed all-around gold (119.700) and silver (118.350), respectively, while Poland's Liliana Lewinska took bronze (117.700).

Along with her all-around finish, Keys was fourth (27.900) in the clubs final and sixth (28.050) in ball. Chu was seventh in hoop with a 25.700, while de la Rosa landed eighth in ribbon with a 23.600.

In group competition, the junior group from North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center of Goda Balsys (Northbrook, Ill.), Annabella Hantov (Northfield, Ill.), Kristina Lee (Woodridge, Ill.), Greta Pavilonyte (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) and Alaini Spata (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), was eleventh all-around with a 45.650. During qualifications, the group scored a 23.300 in five balls and a 22.350 in five ropes.
