Volunteer Membership

Who
A member club or sanctioned event volunteer (both paid/unpaid) that has regular contact with and authority over minors.
  • A Volunteer membership is required for:
    • Office and other non-coaching staff
    • Event staff assigned to monitor locker rooms and bathrooms
    • Event staff with direct responsibility to manage athlete movements
    • Non-gymnastics coaches such as cheer, dance or ninja that operate out of a Member Club
    • Chaperones assigned by Member Club
    • Safety Champion
    • Guest choreographers, clinicians, coaches
    • Personal Care Assistant hired by the Member Club or who assist more than one minor member
  • A Volunteer membership is encouraged for:
    • Parent volunteers at meets who work in concessions, ticket sales, program sales, mask/social distance monitors
    • Sound personnel at meet such as DJ or announcer
    • Security hired to provide security and safety personnel
    • Janitorial staff
    • Vendors at meets including t-shirt/souvenir sales, food services, facility staff
    • Equipment installers and assemblers
    • Media personnel
    • Timers
Requirements
  • Individuals applying for Volunteer membership must be 14 years of age or older
  • U110: U.S. Center for Safe Sport Course (18+)
  • Background Check (18+) – a background check consistent with the USA Gymnastics background check policy must be completed for Volunteer members 18 years of age and older. It is the responsibility of both the individual and the Member Club/Meet Director to confirm the completion of the background check for Volunteer members.

    • Parent/guardian of minor member or adult member may register online by logging in with their own username and password.

Membership Terms
  • Membership is valid for one competitive season
  • Current competitive season: August 1, 2022 through July 31, 2023

  • All fees and memberships are both non-refundable and non-transferable
