Y207 Ballet for Rhythmic Gymnastics

Course Description

This course provides coaches with a concise, yet comprehensive set of ballet exercises for rhythmic gymnastics (or any gymnastics discipline!). The basic body technique for rhythmic gymnastics is rooted in classical ballet. Proper ballet training is an essential foundation for rhythmic gymnasts from the beginning levels, all the way to Olympic Champions.

The course includes example videos of each exercise in the complex from various angles, paired with instruction on proper technique from USA Rhythmic National Team Ballet Master, Sonya Yankova. Equal right and left side development and correct body alignment, as stressed in these exercises, are fundamental to healthy progression through the sport.

The full ballet complex should take around 20 minutes to execute, allowing ballet to be incorporated, regardless of the length of the practice.
