U114: Childhood Development: Preschool to Elementary School Age
Course Description
Participants of this course will learn about the cognitive, social, and brain development of preschool and elementary-aged children as well as how to establish environments that are conducive to learning.
The first in a three-part series, the course aims to give instructors a deeper comprehension of how children's brains, cognitive abilities, and social skills develop. Understanding how a child grows can help educators design learning settings that are better suited to their needs, giving kids a more enjoyable and healthy learning experience that will help them acquire the skills being taught.
This online course will take approximately 60-90 minutes to complete. Note: participants are encouraged to take their time in completing this course rather than attempting to complete it in a single learning session. Instead, they should approach the learning over days or weeks and gradually review the content and concepts.
