R103: School-Age: Hands-on Training is a practical, in-person course designed for instructors of school-aged recreational gymnasts (ages 6+). The course focuses on teaching gymnastics movement education with an emphasis on safety, individual development, fitness and fun. Participants receive hands-on instruction in class safety, games, warm-ups, lesson planning, age-appropriate skills and drills, and progression on vault, bars, beam and floor. A central component of the course is guided, hands-on spotting to build coach confidence and ensure safe skill development.
Course Details
This course will be scheduled for 5-6 hours. Participants are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to allow adequate time for check-in. Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for active coaching and spotting.
Minors registering for the course must be logged in to their own profile, not their parent/guardian profile, to receive credit for the course. View page 2 of the Parent How-To Guide for further information.
To print course certificates, individuals must have an active USA Gymnastics membership (Recreational Coach, Competitive Coach, Judge, Owner/Managing Director, or Athlete).

Registration, Cancellation & Transfer Policies
Course registrants must be a minimum of 14 years old.
Attendees aged 18 and older MUST have completed U110: U.S. Center for Safe Sport Core course to attend this training.
Cancellation requests received more than 2 weeks before the course date will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than two weeks before the course date.
