This live, interactive training course is designed specifically for preschool instructors and early childhood educators who are looking to strengthen their practical teaching skills in a dynamic, supportive environment. Participants will actively explore fundamental movement development for young children, class safety best practices, and the selection of age-appropriate games and activities, including those that are best avoided. The course covers the effective use of manipulatives and apparatus, creative and developmentally appropriate lesson planning, incorporating music and thematic teaching, and strategies for leading successful parent/child classes.
This course is a great hands-on companion to the online R101: Preschool Fundamentals Theory course, with instructors modeling real-world applications and guiding participants through hands-on demonstrations of key concepts. While completion of the R101 is strongly recommended to enhance the learning experience, it is not a prerequisite for enrollment in R102.
Course Details
This course will be scheduled for 5-6 hours. Participants are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to allow adequate time for check-in. Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for active coaching and participation.
Minors registering for the course must be logged in to their own profile, not their parent/guardian profile, to receive credit for the course. View page 2 of the Parent How-To Guide for further information.
To print course certificates, individuals must have an active USA Gymnastics membership (Recreational Coach, Competitive Coach, Judge, Owner/Managing Director, or Athlete).

Registration, Cancellation & Transfer Policies
Course registrants must be a minimum of 14 years old.
Attendees aged 18 and older MUST have completed U110: U.S. Center for Safe Sport Core course to attend this training.
Cancellation requests received more than 2 weeks before the course date will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than two weeks before the course date.
