This online course is essential for preschool instructors and teachers, providing a solid foundation in child development theory within the context of gymnastics-based movement education. R101 equips educators to better understand their students and effectively plan, organize, and lead safe, engaging preschool classes. Key topics include teaching philosophy, developmental stages, effective teaching traits, class management, safety, skill breakdown, lesson planning, and program evaluation. This online course can be taken as a stand-alone learning experience or as a compliment to the live R102: Preschool Fundamentals Hands-on Training course.
Course Details
This course takes approximately 4 hours to complete. It consists of four online modules, each ending with a quiz that must be passed with 100% to progress. Unlimited attempts are allowed and there is no final cumulative exam. After successful completion, the course will remain accessible for review at any time.
Minors taking the course must be logged in to their own profile, not their parent/guardian profile, to receive credit for the course. View page 2 of the Parent How-To Guide for further information.
To print course certificates, individuals must have an active USA Gymnastics membership (Recreational Coach, Competitive Coach, Judge, Owner/Managing Director, or Athlete).
