J313 Beginning Optional Skill Evaluation: Balance Beam is an online video course. This course is part of a series of courses for judges and coaches to review basic level optional skills and evaluate for technique and deductions. The goal of this course is to train judges to recognize and apply appropriate deductions for dance skills on beam. The event will be presented to include multiple examples of the same skill in regular speed and slow motion with voice-over description.
This course will allow the judge to print a certificate for one hour of CPE (Continuing Professional Education) clinic credit.
The course will take approximately one hour to complete and can be downloaded for future review.

The J313 Beginning Optional Skill Evaluation: Balance Beam Dance is an elective course eligible for 1 clinic-hour of CPE in the School of Judging for USA Gymnastics Members. This course is available for CPE credit one time only. Only half of the total annually-required clinic hours based on the rating held may be earned through online Judging courses or judging-related webinars. Any additional hours from online courses may be used for miscellaneous creditpractice judging.
Upon completion of the course, members can print out a certificate of “J” course completion on their USA Gymnastics "My Profile" page-under Course History. This certificate can be used in conjunction with your registration confirmation as necessary documentation for proof of CPE clinic credit. Once a non-member has completed this judging course, a certificate will not be available for printing until membership is acquired and current. To print course certificates, individuals must have an active USA Gymnastics membership (Recreational Coach, Competitive Coach, Judge, Owner/Managing Director, or Athlete).
