Course Description

J205: Honoring the Game: The Official’s Role in Creating a Positive Youth Sports Culture is an online courses for judges through PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance). This course is filled with powerful officiating tools, is based on the latest research in sports psychology, and reflects the “best practices” of elite officials across the country.

Throughout the course, you will hear from officials and members of our National Advisory Board, including Barry Mano, the president of the National Association of Sports Officials.

J205: Honoring the Game: The Official’s Role in Creating a Positive Youth Sports Culture is an interactive workshop which includes audio. If you don’t have audio, simply read each screen.

This course will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. You need to complete all lessons of the course and then pass the Course Test with a score of 80% or higher. Once you pass this test, to reprint your certificate, click on “My Home” and then “My History” on the left navigation bar.

Fees & Policies

  • $29 for USA Gymnastics Members - Professional, Jr. Professional, Instructor and Athlete (age 14 or older)
  • $44 for Non-Members (includes a complimentary Instructor Membership)
    *Non Members cannot register online for this course and must download registration form.

  • Online course fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another individual.
  • Participants will have access to the course for one year after registration and may access the course as often as they wish during that period. The course must be completed during this time or re-registration and payment is required. Re-registration can only be achieved by contacting member services at 1-800-345-4719.

USA Gymnastics University

The J205 Honoring the Game: The Official’s Role in Creating a Positive Youth Sports Culture is an elective course and is available for 1 hour of CPE clinic, in the School of Judging. This course is only available for CPE clinic credit, one time.

In order to receive University credit, members must register for the J205 through USA Gymnastics.

Upon completion of the course, members can print out a certificate of course completion on their USA Gymnastics "My Profile" page. This certificate can be used for proof of CPE clinic credit. To print course certificates, individuals must have an active USA Gymnastics membership (Recreational Coach, Competitive Coach, Judge, Owner/Managing Director, or Athlete).
