Course Description

J205: Honoring the Game: The Official’s Role in Creating a Positive Youth Sports Culture is an online course for judges provided by PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance). This course, filled with powerful officiating tools, is based on the latest research in sports psychology and reflects the “best practices” of elite officials across the country.

Throughout the course, you will hear from officials and members of PCA’s National Advisory Board, including Barry Mano, the president of the National Association of Sports Officials.

Course Details

Registration Information: After registering, you will receive two emails from USA Gymnastics - one confirming payment and registration, and a second email containing specific course login information. You may need to check your spam/junk email to find this notification. If you do not receive an activation notice within 24 hours, please contact USA Gymnastics Educational Services (education@usagym.org).

This course is an interactive workshop which includes audio. If you don’t have audio, simply read each screen. The course will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. You need to complete all lessons of the course and then pass the Course Test with a score of 80% or higher. Once you pass this test, to reprint your certificate, click on “My Home” and then “My History” on the left navigation bar.

The J205: Honoring the Game: The Official’s Role in Creating a Positive Youth Sports Culture is an elective course and is available for 1 hour of CPE clinic. This course can only be used one time for CPE clinic credit. Click here for Judging Continuing Professional Education Requirements.

To print course certificates, individuals must have an active USA Gymnastics membership (Recreational Coach, Competitive Coach, Judge, Owner/Managing Director, or Athlete).

• $29 for USA Gymnastics Members: Recreational Coach, Competitive Coach, Owner/Managing Director, Judge, Meet Director, Athlete (age 14 and older)
• $44 for Non-Members (note: certificates are unavailable to Non-Members)

• Course registrants must be a minimum of 16 years old.
