Men’s Gymnastics Team Head Coach

Job Description: MAG Head Coach

Job Summary
The coach will be responsible for the planning and coordination of the MAG competitive program. This includes all competitive levels with input to the recreational program to help develop potential team members.

Coaching:

Athlete Development:

Class Management and planning:
• Cultivate a cohesive and supportive team culture that emphasizes teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship
• Planning and implantation of yearly, term plans and goal setting for all MAG athletes
• Produce written lesson plans and resources for use if absent

Parent and Athlete Relations:
• Maintain open communication with athletes and their parents, addressing concerns, providing progress updates, and offering support. All communications must go through the office
• Organize meetings or informational sessions to keep parents informed about program goals, training plans, and competition schedules
• Participate in and support the college recruitment process

Administrative Duties:
• Communicate with management and office staff as required on changes to class schedule and team communications (e.g. meet information)
• Complete attendance rolls
• Manage USA Gym membership, meet enrollment and booking travel for travel meets

Qualifications:
• USA Gym MAG coach with Compulsory through Optional Levels Experience (Levels 3-10)
• Previous experience (5+ years) coaching Optional level competitive men's gymnastics and experience spotting WAG athletes
• In-depth knowledge of gymnastics techniques, skills progression, and competition regulations
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Team Attraction Gymnastics is seeking an experienced, motivated, and organized Compulsory Team Director to lead and continue strengthening our USA Gymnastics Compulsory Program. This is a key leadership role responsible for athlete development, staff mentorship, program communication, and building a strong, positive team culture that supports long-term success.

Position Overview
The Compulsory Team Director will oversee all aspects of the Compulsory Program (USAG Levels 2–5), including training systems, staff leadership, athlete progression, and program communication. This role works collaboratively with Optional Team leadership and gym management to ensure a cohesive and high-quality competitive program.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage all Compulsory Team training and athlete development in collaboration with the Team Head Coach and other program leaders
• Design and implement seasonal training plans, timelines, and skill progressions in collaboration with the Team Head Coach
• Meet with senior staff to help ensure training techniques and athlete development expectations remain consistent across the Compulsory and Optional programs
• Mentor, schedule, and oversee compulsory coaching staff
• Lead staff meetings for compulsory staff
• Track athlete progress and prepare gymnasts for competitions
• Prepare progress reports and help ensure level-placement decisions are made collaboratively
• Communicate professionally and proactively with parents, including leading annual parent meetings and ongoing program communication
• Assist with competition season planning and logistics
• Maintain a positive, structured, and professional team culture
• Support smooth athlete transitions from Compulsory to Optional levels
• Work closely with the Pre-Team program and its coaches to align training expectations, athlete evaluations, and long-term progression into the Compulsory Program

Qualifications
• Previous coaching experience in USA Gymnastics Compulsory Levels (2–5 required; higher-level experience a plus)
• Demonstrated leadership or program management experience
• Strong understanding of long-term athlete development and fundamentals
• Strong technical knowledge of USA Gymnastics Compulsory requirements, with a keen eye for detail, form, and execution

Job Summary
