INDIANAPOLIS, February 3, 2022 - USA Gymnastics has announced the results of the recent 2022-25 term elections to determine athlete representation on the organization's Board of Directors and Athletes' Council.

Former Rhythmic National Team member Rebecca Sereda was re-elected to the Board of Directors, representing the combined interests of the acrobatic, rhythmic, and trampoline and tumbling athlete communities.

Six athlete representatives were also elected to USA Gymnastics' Athletes' Council, which is comprised of two athlete representatives from each of USAG's five core disciplines, as well as the elected USOPC Athletes' Advisory Council representatives for gymnastics. Existing council members Alex Renkert (trampoline and tumbling) and Jessica Renteria (acrobatics) won their bids for re-election, while 2020 Olympian Evita Griskenas (rhythmic), two-time Olympic alternate Akash Modi (men's artistic) and former National Team member Emily Schild (women's artistic) will join the council in 2022.

Athlete representatives are voted on by individuals who meet the 10 Year Athlete definition outlined in the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee's Bylaws and who are eligible to hold the seat for which they are voting.

The USA Gymnastics Athletes' Council recently named additional athlete representatives to numerous committees following a call for nominations in late 2021. A full list of appointees is available here.

USA Gymnastics extends its deepest gratitude to all new and existing athlete representatives, including outgoing Athletes' Council Chair Ivana Hong. Renteria, who previously served as the council's vice chair, has been selected to succeed Hong, while Renkert will assume the vice chair role.
